MEHDI BOURKAB

Born& raised in Rabat-Morocco, Mehdi Bourkab, better known as Médii, is one of the rising names in the Contemporary R&B scene. Growing up in a solidly musical family, Médii was exposed to lyricism and song-writing from a young age.

His father, who shared a great passion for icons such as Bob Dylan and Jacques Brel, sparked his interest in music. Simultaneously, his uncle’s international recognition for his contribution to World Music, Blues and Jazz further motivated him to start his musical journey.

Médii’s quest in music began to take shape when he discovered the works of legends such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion, which ultimately helped sculpt his R&B sound. However, his North-African roots inspire him to push beyond boundaries and create music showcasing his heritage; thus, bridging cultural divides.
